It appears to be an old word. I cannot find it in my huge English/French dictionary. The context is a review of a documentary about the end of World War II in Europe. The sentence is 'Le film esbaudira ceux qui n'ont jamais vu de documents sur la question.'|||It means "to amuse".
But it was a struggle finding it, I grand you that!
So the sentence would translate as: The movie amused those who had never seen a documentary on that subject, or something like it anyway.
